This page contains information on all of IBC's stand alone readers. Stand alone readers are readers which contain memory, and can validate scans against data in the readers' internal memory. These readers can operate without a computer (stand-alone), and can provide an easy solution to access control, as well as time and attendance.

"SA/STA" Series Stand Alone Swipe Readers
Smart Slot SA (barcode)
Stand-Alone barcode swipe reader with 64K of memory (256K optional), for use in Access Control installations. The Smart Slot SA reader contains an internal relay for door activation, and is easily programmable by hand or by downloading from a pc. Supports scheduling. Available in both fixed-mount and portable. Interfaces include RS232, RS422/485, and TCP/IP.
Smart Mag SA (magstripe)
Stand-Alone magnetic stripe swipe reader with 64K of memory (256K optional), for use in Access Control installations. The Smart Mag SA reader contains an internal relay for door activation, and may be programmed by hand or by downloading from a pc. Supports scheduling. Available in both fixed-mount and portable. Interfaces include RS232, RS422/485, and TCP/IP.
Magbar SA (barcode and magstripe combination)
Stand-Alone barcode and magnetic stripe reader, with 64K memory (256K optional), for use in Access Control installations. The Magbar SA contains an internal relay for door activation, and can be programmed by hand or by downloading from a pc. Supports scheduling. Available in both fixed-mount and portable. Interfaces include RS232, RS422/485, and TCP/IP.
Smart Prox SA (proximity, or proximity with barcode and/or magstripe)
Stand-Alone proximity reader, available with proximity only, or also as a combination reader with barcode and/or magnetic stripe. The Smart Prox SA contains 64K of memory (256K optional), and is used as a 1-piece solution to Access Control. The Smart Prox SA contains an internal relay for door activation, and can be programmed by hand or by downloading from a pc. Supports scheduling. Supports prox cards by Pyramid and Hid. Available in both fixed-mount and portable. Interfaces include RS232, RS422/485, and TCP/IP.
