SA/STA Series Readers

Easy Stand-Alone Access Control

IBC's SA and STA Stand-Alone swipe readers make Access Control and Time and Attendance a snap!

These readers run Stand Alone, without the need for a dedicated pc or controller connection. Just hook them up, enroll your cards, and you're ready to go.

The SA/STA series readers are Stand Alone readers, which can be used for Access Control, and also for Time & Attendance, or general data collection.

These readers contain internal memory, an internal relay, and internal real-time clock.

In the SA reader, the internal memory is used to store a list of the valid access numbers for which access will be granted. In the STA reader, the internal memory is used for storing valid access numbers, as well as an audit trail. In both readers, the access numbers can be loaded by hand (enrolled at the reader), or downloaded from a pc. Both readers (SA and STA) support scheduling. Multiple schedules per employee are allowed.

These readers can operate in multiple modes. In the SA mode, the reader will validate any scanned card against the list stored in the internal memory. If a match is found, the relay is triggered allowing door access. The data can also be "dumped" through the serial port, for collection by a pc or printing with a printer. In STA mode, the reader will validate the card, trigger door access, and also store the transaction in the audit trail in memory. The STA can also run in a data-collection mode, where all scanned cards are stored directly in the audit trail memory.

Both fixed-mount and portable versions of these readers are available. The portable versions are available with an internal 9-volt battery.

SA and STA readers are available with an RS232, RS422, or TCP/IP interface, for downloading of the access list and uploading of the audit trail.

Proximity versions of these readers are available in three different styles:

1 piece wall mount stand-alone proximity reader
1 piece wall mount combination proximity reader, with barcode and/or magstripe
2 piece, with an external connection to a wall mounted proximity reader
