July 2006 - POE products

J, SA, and STA readers are now available with POE. The POE units can also directly power a door strike without the need for a power supply.

April 2006 - New Software

Highpower Security Systems has recently introduced the Highpower Management System for Access Control. HMS can be used with STA readers V7.0 and V8.0, as well as the new 8000 controller. For more information view Highpowers's software site at http://highpowersecurity.com/software.htm.

April 2006 - 8000 series controllers

Limited quantities of the 8000 series controllers are now shipping. The 8000 series controllers are available with rs232, rs422, tcp, and tcp w/POE. POE versions of the controller provide power directly to the strike, eliminating the need for a power supply or 110V service.

February 2006 - USB

All "J", SA, DC, and STA series readers are now available with usb.

February 2006 - 716 Converter

Version 1.6 of the 716 converter has now been released. V 1.6 supports multiple programmable input formats, as well as F2F output.

July 2005 - Metal readers now available

Some of our most popular models are now available with aluminum housings, for use in harsh environments or environments where chemicals are used.
